As of 1 December 2026, the timeframe to submit an NDIS claim is being reduced from 2 years down to 90 days from the date of service delivery.
This introduces a significant challenge for participants who have PACE plans with funding period release dates. This challenge presents itself when a participants plan has had funds exhausted in budget category and a provider’s invoices are being held for payment until a funding period release date has passed. If an invoice has had to be held for longer than 90 days since the date of service for payment, a plan manager will not be able to submit the claim with the NDIS.
For Participants
This risk is minimised by having Specialised Plan Services as your plan manager. We will continue to provide budget reports each month to help you track your budget and remaining balances. We will also continue to send notifications before your budget is exhausted.
For Providers
To minimise the impact of this risk as a provider we encourage you to work closely with your participants. Check regularly prior to service delivery to ensure that there are enough funds in the budget to cover the service delivery. We also want to encourage you to submit regular invoices for service delivery and not to accumulate charges on larger invoices that span wider time frames.
